Installing Acrobat Reader DC on Microsoft Windows

Question:
How do I install Acrobat Reader DC in Microsoft Windows?
Answer:
To install Acrobat Reader DC, please perform the following:
  1. Go to Adobe's website at http://www.adobe.com
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Adobe home page
  3. Locate and click the Acrobat Reader DC link

  1. Uncheck the box(es) for Optional offer

  2. Click Install now at the lower-right
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish downloading and installing Adobe Reader
Note: If installation is not successful following the method above, Adobe Reader can also be downloaded from the following link:
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Note: During the installation Adobe Reader may or may not ask you to enable the Adobe Reader extension in chrome and it is totally up to you if you want to install it or not. Whether you enable it or not you will still need to disable the Chrome PDF reader to read eBooks. For more information on disabling the Chrome PDF reader look in the additional information below.

Note: During installation you may be prompted to sign up for a month free with subsequent $9.99/month cost. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free product and the prompt can be bypassed by clicking Skip for Now instead of entering an email to sign up.
Once the Acrobat Reader application is installed, it may be necessary to set as default. There is multiple ways to set as default. Please perform the following and if needed look at additional information for more help:
  1. Find Acrobat Reader in the list of applications or may appear on the desktop as an icon
  2. Open Acrobat Reader
  3. Click Yes to set as default
  4. If prompted click Continue
  5. Click Change
  6. Select Acrobat Reader
  7. Click Ok
